Common questions

If your phone gets any signal where you're staying, even a weak one, choose the Camper WiFi Pro. Its external antenna pulls in a stronger signal than a phone can on its own. If there's little or no usable phone signal, choose the Starlink Mini. It connects by satellite and just needs a clear view of the sky.

Your camper's metal body blocks some of the phone signal before it reaches you. The antenna sits outside, where the signal is stronger, and passes it to the WiFi unit inside. That means faster, steadier WiFi on sites where your phone struggles.

Yes, you can. It still works from the inside, but the van's body and the glass block some of the signal, so it may not get the best signal or speed. For the strongest connection, stick it to the outside of the window.

Yes, with the Camper WiFi Pro. Unplug the antenna and take the WiFi unit with you on walks, to the beach or into town. It runs on its own battery. Plug the antenna back in when you're back at the van.

Yes. The Camper WiFi Pro has its own battery and charges from any USB socket, including the one in your camper. For the Starlink Mini, add the 12V van lead when you book and plug it into your camper's 12V socket. Or skip the lead and plug it into a normal three-pin mains socket instead.

Yes. Both work for video calls and uploads on the road. The Starlink Mini is the one to pick if your work can't wait for a signal. Rent it for as long as you need it, and extend from the link we email you if the trip runs longer.

Yes. We deliver to your home, a campsite or anywhere else you need it. Most people have it sent home before they set off.

Yes. Set it up outside your camper with nothing overhead, away from trees and buildings. Once it can see the sky, it's online in minutes.

Anywhere it can see the sky once you're parked. Stand it on its kickstand on the ground, a camping table or the camper roof. Please don't drive with it on the roof or fixed to the outside, as it can easily get damaged. Take it down and pack it inside before you set off.

The first 3 rental days are charged in full, or 5 for the Starlink Mini. After that, book as many days as you need, and the daily rate drops the longer you hire. Need it for longer? Extend from the link we email you. Finished early? FlexiPromise refunds 50% of the rental value for the remaining days.
